CAUTION:

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS NOT INTENDED TO BE LEGAL ADVICE TO YOU FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CASE AND IS GENERAL INFORMATION ONLY. WE STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO CONSULT A LAWYER TO OBTAIN LEGAL ADVICE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CASE.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS:
If you are involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident, immediately:
  1. Report the accident to the police.
  2. Contact your insurance company to report the accident.
  3. Obtain a copy of the police report from the investigating officer.
  4. Make and keep notes of the details of the accident and injuries that you may have sustained while they are fresh in your mind.
  5. Seek medical attention no matter how trivial the injury may appear to be.
  6. Apply for accident benefits with your own insurer.

Keep a diary of events, medical treatment and appointments, and your condition following the accident and seek legal advice concerning your potential claim.

When you see your lawyer, bring with you:

  1. Your notes and diary.
  2. A copy of the police report.
  3. The name of your insurance company along with the insurance company’s contact person’s name and contact information.
  4. A list of your health care providers.
  5. A list of medications that you may be taking.
  6. Any information/documents that you may have received from your insurer.

Our firm, in motor vehicle cases, always provides a free initial consultation. Further, we may advance your claim on a contingency basis. In other words, if and when you realize on any settlement or judgment we would be paid.

FAMILY LAW / DIVORCE:
If you are contemplating separating from your spouse, see a lawyer for legal advice before separation or shortly thereafter.

Bring with you:

  1. A list of your concerns.
  2. Your income information for the previous three years.
  3. If applicable, a list of your child’s special needs or expenses.
  4. A list of your assets and liabilities.
  5. If applicable, a copy of your marriage certificate.

There are and you can discuss with your lawyer the “no court” options of resolving the issues that may arise from the breakdown of the relationship.

WILLS & ESTATES / POWERS OF ATTORNEY:

If you are contemplating making a will or power of attorney, see a lawyer for assistance.
Bring with you:

  1. A list of your concerns or wishes as to how you would like to see your affairs managed or distributed.
  2. A list of your assets and liabilities.
  3. The full legal name of the person(s) you have chosen to be your Trustee or Attorney. It is preferable to select an alternate in the event your first choice is unable to perform his or her tasks.
  4. The full legal name of the persons you would like to benefit from your estate.
  5. If you have dependents, you should discuss this with your lawyer and put your mind to whom you would like to appoint as guardian for your dependents.
